Wide Block

Web Style Guide

The Wide Block Content Layout is an empty element used to add content to a page that extends beyond the normal width of the main content area.

Normally, the main content area has a maximum width of 680px. The Wide Block element extends the maximum width to 1200px.

Example

The screenshot below shows what a wide block element looks like while editing a page.

Note

Any content, including other blocks, can be nested inside a wide block, although many content layouts are already wide or have the option to make them wide without using this block. These options will be discussed on the relevant pages of this guide.
