Insured Mail
Insured Mail provides indemnity coverage for lost, damaged or rifled articles. Only First Class Mail, if containing matter that may be mailed as Standard Mail or Single Piece, Parcel Post, Bound Printed Matter, Special and Library Standard Mail may be insured.
An example of Priority or First Class Mail containing Standard Mail (B) matter might be a small box containing a tie valued at $25 being sent as a gift. Some types of mail cannot be insured. For example, parcels offered for sale to prospective purchasers who have not ordered or authorized their sending, and mail not bearing the complete names and addresses of the sender and addressee.

Schedule
Currently, USPS collects all outgoing mail once daily at 3:15 p.m. All outgoing USPS mail brought to Mail Services by 2:30 p.m. will be processed the same day. However, unusual peak periods, equipment down time, and situations beyond our control could cause your mail processing to be delayed, though this is not a common occurrence.
