Blackboard Base Navigation

In Summer 2024, our campus upgraded to the new Base Navigation in Blackboard. Base Navigation offers a new way to navigate and access your Blackboard content with a streamlined landing page that lets students and instructors access necessary course and organization information more easily. We wanted to provide some helpful resources for you as you orient yourselves to this new set up.

Get Started in Base Navigation

Angelo State’s Technology Knowledge Portal has a variety of articles with timely how-to information on Base Navigation, including:

• An Overview of Base Navigation
• How to Add a Course Image - This will make the tile view of courses shine for students!
• How to Turn Off Course Messages - Messages are a great way to communicate with students, if you’re not ready to use them just yet, it’s simple to turn them off.
