NSA Center of Academic Excellence

We have been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency. This highlights our commitment to providing top-tier cybersecurity education as we develop the nation’s cyber workforce.

High-Tech Labs

Gain the hands-on experience you need in our multiple computer labs. They are highlighted by our Entertainment Computing Lab that features high-speed computers with the latest in graphics cards, development software, sound editing software, video equipment, 3-D painting and more.

Internships & Student Jobs

You could be eligible for paid internships in our award-winning Regional Security Operations Center and our State of Texas Data Center, as well as in our IT Department and with local businesses and agencies. Get even more practical experience as a tutor or as an assistant in one of our campus computer labs. You could also work part-time for our IT Department.

Summer Coding & Cybersecurity Camps

Every year, our department hosts free summer coding and cybersecurity camps for local and area junior high and high school students. By helping out at Code Camp and/or CyberCamp@ASU, you could help shape the computer science and cybersecurity professionals of tomorrow.

Ram Ready Computer Science Program

Get a head start on your four-year computer science or cybersecurity degree. Our partnership allows you to take intro-level computer science classes while still at your junior college. Once you’ve completed your associate degree, you can take advantage of a seamless transition to Angelo State to finish your bachelor’s degree.
