Lt Col Jeffery Erwin

Major Jeffrey Erwin is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies at San Angelo State University in San Angelo Texas.

Major Erwin is a native of Texas. He earned his commission through OTS in 2008. He lives with his wife, Anna Erwin of Monahans, Texas, and children, Ainsley and Truett, in Abilene, Texas. He has served in various leadership positions as a Special Weapons Flight OIC and Munitions Accountable Systems Officer responsible for the daily accountability of the one-of-a- kind underground munitions maintenance and storage complex with Department of Defense assets worth over $5.9 billion. As a Flight Commander, he has managed nuclear munitions support for the NATO Strike mission in partnership with the Royal Netherlands Air Force and led the daily maintenance and accountability operations of one of United States Air Forces in Europe’s geographically separated units. As a Director of Operations for two Student Training Squadrons, he was responsible for daily operations of technical training producing aircraft maintenance technicians and munitions maintenance specialists. As a Maintenance Operations Officer of the 649 MUNS, he was responsible for 270 Airmen, a $928 million stockpile, and supplying Standard Air Munitions Package missions for Combatant Commanders. Prior to his current ROTC assignment Major Erwin was the Commander of the 7th Munitions Squadron, 7th Maintenance Group, 7th Bomb Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. He was responsible for leading 243 munitions and weapons technicians that store, maintain, and deliver munitions and munitions release systems in support of B-1 and C-130 Aircraft.
