ASU Earns Multiple National Honors for Veteran/Military Education
November 13, 2024

Angelo State University has again earned national recognition from several organizations for excellence in education and related services that significantly contribute to the academic success of veteran and military students and their families.
For the 11th consecutive year, ASU has been named a national “Best for Vets College” by the Military Times organization. ASU also ranked No. 27 among the 304 U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools that made the 2024 rankings – and is one of only six Texas public universities on the list.
Also for the fourth straight year, ASU has been named one of the nation’s “Veteran Friendly Colleges” by the Veterans.com independent online information guide for military and veteran benefits. ASU is also one of only six Texas public universities among the 364 U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools to make the 2024 rankings list.
Earlier this year, ASU was named a “Military Friendly® School” by Victory Media/G.I. Jobs magazine for the 15th time – and also earned the “Military Support College of Distinction” designation from the Colleges of Distinction organization for the fifth straight year.
ASU’s VETS Center provides enrollment and academic support for military and veteran students, as well as special programs, networking opportunities, social and study areas, and a dedicated computer lab. The Office of Affiliated Military and Veteran Services coordinates the efforts of the VETS Center and other faculty and staff who deal directly with ASU military and veteran students and their families.
