December 19, 2024 - Dr. Katie Lyman, previously the dean of health occupations and healthcare simulation at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been appointed as the dean of Angelo State University’s Archer College of Health and Human Services, effective April 1, 2025.

November 22, 2024 - Two Angelo State University political science students earned individual awards for their performances at the recent 28th annual Eugene Scassa Mock Organization of American States (ESMOAS) Collegiate Summit of the Americas Conference at Baylor University.

October 29, 2024 - Dr. Fazlur Rahman, retired oncologist and an adjunct professor in the Angelo State University Department of Biology, has published a new book titled “Our Connected Lives: Caring for Cancer Patients in Rural Texas” through Texas Tech University Press.

October 17, 2024 - Angelo State University has received a $500,000 gift from noted local philanthropist and arts enthusiast Elta Joyce McAfee to help establish the new Angelo State Athletics Endowment, one of the top priorities of ASU’s ongoing “Leading the Charge” capital campaign.

October 14, 2024 - Angelo State University has received a $299,999 grant subaward from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) through Texas Tech University for a joint project to develop a cybersecurity research and workforce development program to tackle defense-relevant challenges in the region.

September 26, 2024 - Angelo State University has been awarded a $595,000 contract by Sonoma State University for a joint project designed to help local and area middle schools improve student success in the sciences, as well as provide professional development opportunities for science teachers.

September 23, 2024 - For the 10th straight year, Angelo State University has been designated one of the nation’s “Great Colleges to Work For” and will be featured in a special edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education, the major national news source for college and university faculty and administrators.

September 19, 2024 - Angelo State University has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and will retain the designation at least through the 2029 academic year.

September 9, 2024 - Angelo State University has been awarded a $20,000 Strategic Internationalization Grant from the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) for a new project to develop international studies partnerships with universities in Central and South America.
