Ground Broken for Rambelles Soccer Clubhouse

The addition of the soccer program’s first dedicated clubhouse is the second phase of an ongoing renovation project at the complex. Since the ASU soccer program was introduced in 1996, the Rambelles and their opponents have been using locker rooms and athletic training areas in the ASU Junell Center.

Having top-notch facilities also helps with recruiting. The new clubhouse will certainly help us continue to attract outstanding student-athletes to proudly represent the ASU Ram Family on the soccer field.”

The first phase of the renovation project featured the installation of stadium seating, a covering steel canopy, a modular press box and related infrastructure. The additional seating has significantly increased the complex’s capacity, which was previously about 500 fans.

James Reid “We are committed to making sure all of our student-athletes and fans have the best possible experience at our home events,” said James Reid, ASU athletic director. “The renovations and new facilities at the Soccer Complex will have a dynamic impact not only on the Rambelles soccer team, but also the growing number of students and community members of all ages who support the players, coaches and staff.”

Since 2010, the Rambelles have won seven Lone Star Conference regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament eight times. Numerous players have earned All-LSC, All-South Central Region and All-America honors, and McCorkle is a five-time LSC Coach of the Year. The entire coaching staff was named South Central Region and NCAA D-II National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020-21 by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) organization following ASU’s first-ever undefeated season.

During the most recent fall 2022 season, the Rambelles finished second in the LSC and advanced to the NCAA D-II Tournament, finishing the season 13-4-3. Seniors Cassidy Hill and Kira Miller were named the LSC Defensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively, and they were also named D2CCA All-South Central Region along with junior midfielder Katelin Heise. Miller was named an All-American, and Miller, Hill and Heise were all named USC Scholar All-Americans.
