K-12 Engagement
Efforts are underway to expand cybersecurity awareness to Texas public schools.
In concert with district and campus leaders, STEM support staff and teachers, ASU is working to create a culture of cybersecurity through educational curriculum and activities. This can be accomplished through:
- Introduction of the basics of cybersecurity through play:
- CyberThreat Guardian in grades K-2
- CyberThreat Protector in grades 3-5
- CyberThreat Defender in grades 6-12
- Assisting classroom teachers to deliver cybersecurity instruction utilizing age and developmentally-appropriate resources.
- Exposing middle school and high school students to the educational and career pathways in the fields of computer science and cybersecurity.
- Facilitating and/or leading professional development in cybersecurity education for K-12 teachers.
- Expanding programming to include a cybersecurity summer camp for students in grades 6-12 utilizing Air Force Association’s curriculum.
