K-12 Engagement

In concert with district and campus leaders, STEM support staff and teachers, ASU is working to create a culture of cybersecurity through educational curriculum and activities. This can be accomplished through:

• Introduction of the basics of cybersecurity through play:
  • CyberThreat Guardian in grades K-2
  • CyberThreat Protector in grades 3-5
  • CyberThreat Defender in grades 6-12
• Assisting classroom teachers to deliver cybersecurity instruction utilizing age and developmentally-appropriate resources.
• Exposing middle school and high school students to the educational and career pathways in the fields of computer science and cybersecurity.
• Facilitating and/or leading professional development in cybersecurity education for K-12 teachers.
• Expanding programming to include a cybersecurity summer camp for students in grades 6-12 utilizing Air Force Association’s curriculum.

Youth Cybersecurity Workshop and Expo

Every year we host Youth CyberSecurity Workshop and Expo which connects teachers, parents and students with leaders in cybersecurity and education programs. The cybersecurity program provides immersive games, introductions to educational programs and face-to-face interaction with cybersecurity professionals to discuss future careers in cybersecurity.
