Commencement FAQs
No. Rehearsals are not conducted for any commencement activities.
The ASU Bookstore is recognized as the official supplier of academic apparel.
You must wear the appropriate cap and gown. There is no specific dress code for graduation. Traditionally, commencement is a formal ceremony and students tend to dress accordingly.
Undergraduates wear the tassel on the front right side of the cap. Graduates wear it on the front left side.
No, tickets are not required.
All ceremonies are held at Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
You participate in the ceremony that corresponds with the college of your major. All majors in each ceremony are listed within the Upcoming Ceremonies events on the commencement website.
Parking is available in A/B/C lots on both sides of Varsity Lane on the west side of the Junell Center. Guests may also be able to find parking in the Foster Field lot on the east side of Jackson Street. Handicapped-accessible parking spaces are available to the east and west of the Junell Center.
Undergraduate students who graduate with academic distinction (cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude) will have their cords placed on by a representative on stage. Medallions will be given to Alpha Chi Honor Society members in the Auxiliary Court prior to each ceremony. Phi Kappa Phi members may wear the medallions that were received at the Phi Kappa Phi induction ceremony.
Diplomas are mailed approximately six to eight weeks after commencement.
Replacement diplomas currently cost $25 each.

Please do not bring extra belongings. There is no storage available during the ceremonies.
Photos of each student will be taken on stage by Charles Beasley Photography. Students will be emailed information about pictures and ordering at their angelo.edu email several days after graduation. To contact Charles Beasley, call 325-949-3310.
Students who have invoked the Privacy Act will not be listed in the program or have their names released to local media.
There are seating areas for persons with disabilities around the railing on the upper level of the Stephens Arena. Ushers will be on hand to help anyone needing assistance. Live captions will be provided during the ceremonies.
