Transcripts from baccalaureate degree awarding university or college
Upload unofficial transcripts, with the exception of Angelo State University transcripts, for application evaluation purposes using the Graduate Studies Documents for Submission form.
Please do not send official transcript(s) until you have received a notice of acceptance from Angelo State University. Unless an unofficial transcript is not on hand, please request one.
Official university transcripts should be sent through a secure electronic method (examples: Credential Solutions, Parchment, etc.) to graduate.studies@angelo.edu or by mail to:

Essay (if an applicant has a 2.75 overall/cumulative GPA or higher, then the essay requirement is waived)

GRE
GRE requirement is waived if an applicant has a 3.25 overall/cumulative GPA or higher.
Applicants may submit unofficial test scores using the Graduate Studies Documents for Submission form.
Note: Official scores will be required, if admitted.
Prerequisites
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Overall/Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree must be a B.S. or B.A. in biology or a related discipline (e.g., zoology, botany, microbiology, wildlife ecology).
- Completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours of undergraduate coursework in biology or a related discipline, including 12 credit hours of advanced coursework.
Students without a degree in biology are required to demonstrate proficiency in Genetics, Cell Biology, Evolution and Ecology (if credit has not been earned for these courses) by successfully completing the undergraduate course in the first year (with a grade of “C” or better) or by passing a departmental exam prior to the first semester.
