Add an Audio/Video File to My Media in Blackboard

  1. After logging into Blackboard, go to […]My Media
  2. Click Add Media
  3. In the Uploader, click Browse to select a local video or audio file. You can also record directly from a webcam in the uploader.
  4. Click Upload!  (uploads will take approx. 1 min/50 MB on a campus network connection)  
  5. Click Next.
  6. Add a Title, Tags, and a Description
  7. Click Next. Your video is now available. 

Delete an Audio/Video File in Blackboard

  1. After logging into Blackboard, go to […]My Media.
  2. Click on the thumbnail of the video you would like to delete.
  3. Click Delete Media.
  4. Click OK.

Edit Metadata for an Audio/Video File in Blackboard

  1. After logging into Blackboard, go to […]My Media.
  2. Click on the thumbnail for the video you’d like to manage.
  3. Click on the Edit button next to the corresponding field you’d like to edit.
  4. Edit the tag and click OK.

Add an Audio/Video File to Your Course

  1. After logging into Blackboard, go to […]My Media.
  2. Click on the thumbnail for the video you want to add to a course.
  3. Click on the Add to Gallery link. 
  4. If you are ready for your class to view the video, check the box in front of Make this Item Public in Gallery.
  5. Choose the course to which you’d like to add the media.
  6. Click OK (the media will be loaded to that course’s Course Gallery, under the Tools menu).
  7. Go to the course where you have assigned a video
  8. Click on the Course Tools menu item.
  9. Click on Course Gallery
  10. Click on the thumbnail for the video you would like to use elsewhere.
  11. Check the Make the Item Public in Gallery box.
  12. Your video is now available to all the students in this course.

Add Audio/Video From Blackboard to an External (non-Blackboard) Website

  1. In Blackboard, go to a course where you have assigned a video.
  2. Click on Course Tools menu item.
  3. Click on Course Gallery.
  4. Click on the thumbnail for the video you would like to use elsewhere
  5. Check the Make this Item Public in Gallery box.
  6. Check the Display Embed Code box.
  7. Select All (Ctrl-A or right click —> Select All) of the HTML embed code in the box.
  8. Copy (Ctrl-C or right click —>Copy).
  9. Go to your external website editor and paste the HTML code on the page where you want it to display.
