Add an Audio/Video File to My Media in Blackboard
- After logging into Blackboard, go to […] — My Media
- Click Add Media
- In the Uploader, click Browse to select a local video or audio file. You can also record directly from a webcam in the uploader.
- Click Upload! (uploads will take approx. 1 min/50 MB on a campus network connection)
- Click Next.
- Add a Title, Tags, and a Description
- Click Next. Your video is now available.
Delete an Audio/Video File in Blackboard
- After logging into Blackboard, go to […] — My Media.
- Click on the thumbnail of the video you would like to delete.
- Click Delete Media.
- Click OK.
Edit Metadata for an Audio/Video File in Blackboard
- After logging into Blackboard, go to […] — My Media.
- Click on the thumbnail for the video you’d like to manage.
- Click on the Edit button next to the corresponding field you’d like to edit.
- Edit the tag and click OK.
Add an Audio/Video File to Your Course
- After logging into Blackboard, go to […] — My Media.
- Click on the thumbnail for the video you want to add to a course.
- Click on the Add to Gallery link.
- If you are ready for your class to view the video, check the box in front of Make this Item Public in Gallery.
- Choose the course to which you’d like to add the media.
- Click OK (the media will be loaded to that course’s Course Gallery, under the Tools menu).
- Go to the course where you have assigned a video
- Click on the Course Tools menu item.
- Click on Course Gallery
- Click on the thumbnail for the video you would like to use elsewhere.
- Check the Make the Item Public in Gallery box.
- Your video is now available to all the students in this course.
Add Audio/Video From Blackboard to an External (non-Blackboard) Website
- In Blackboard, go to a course where you have assigned a video.
- Click on Course Tools menu item.
- Click on Course Gallery.
- Click on the thumbnail for the video you would like to use elsewhere
- Check the Make this Item Public in Gallery box.
- Check the Display Embed Code box.
- Select All (Ctrl-A or right click —> Select All) of the HTML embed code in the box.
- Copy (Ctrl-C or right click —>Copy).
- Go to your external website editor and paste the HTML code on the page where you want it to display.
