My research covers a wide range of topics—from investigations of macroevolutionary patterns and processes in globally distributed taxa to analyses of intraspecific genetic and morphological variation—and it spans a variety of disciplines including molecular phylogenetics, historical biogeography, diversification analysis, comparative morphology, and revisionary taxonomy.

My recent efforts have focused on disentangling the diversity, phylogenetic relationships, and evolution of tree squirrels—a diverse and ecologically important group of charismatic rodents—using genomic data obtained from extensive sampling of historical museum specimens and field sampling of rare species.
