Four Angelo State University staff members – Antonio Gallegos Jr., Scott Gartman, Mary Garza and Brittney Miller – have earned the 2024-25 President’s Awards for Staff Excellence, and another – Jason Brown – has received the annual Chancellor’s Colonel Rowan Award for Execution.

Faculty Receive TTU System Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching and Research Awards
Angelo State University faculty members Dr. Kenneth Carrell and Dr. David Faught were presented with the Texas Tech University System’s 2025 Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching and Research Awards for ASU during a May 1 ceremony on campus.

Small Business Development Center Wins National Excellence Award
Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been selected to receive the 2025 Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and its staff will be honored at a ceremony on May 5 in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Laurence Musgrove of the Angelo State University English faculty has been inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters (TIL), a distinguished honor society that celebrates Texas literature and recognizes distinctive literary achievement.

Faculty Promotions for 2025 Approved by Board of Regents
Twenty-two Angelo State University faculty members have had their promotions approved, effective Sept. 1, with their new ranks finalized by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents during its recent regular meeting in Lubbock.

Engineering Professor Wins U.S. Department of Energy Research Grant
Dr. Mohammad Shafinul Haque of Angelo State University’s mechanical engineering faculty has been awarded a $627,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a collaborative research project with the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in Illinois dealing with high-entropy alloys (HEAs).
