Interpreting Assessment Score
The table below will help you interpret the results on the assessment(s) that you have completed. Your advisor will use your results and this table to assist in properly placing you in a mathematics course. If you are not satisfied with your assessment score and you have not yet exhausted all five assessments, you may continue to complete preparation modules and assess to attempt to improve your score.
|
If your overall placement score is less than 61% |
THEN |
| you must enroll in MATH 1314. | |
| If your overall placement score is greater than 75% | THEN |
| you may enroll in MATH 2413. | |
| If your overall placement score is from 61% to 75% and | THEN |
| your Trigonometry subscore is below 45%, | you may enroll in MATH 1316*. |
| your Exponentials and Logarithms subscore is below 45%, | you may enroll in MATH 2312*. |
*If both the Trigonometry subscore and the Exponentials and Logarithms subscore are below 45%, then you must complete both MATH 1316 and MATH 2312. These classes may be taken concurrently. The prerequisites for MATH 2413 are both MATH 1316 and MATH 2312, or suitable placement scores.
Finding Your Trigonometry Subscore and Exponential and Logarithm Subscore
After completing an assessment, you may look at your results by topic. Select “View Report” as shown in the screenshot below.
This should reveal results by topic similar to the screenshot below. You may compute your Trigonometry and/or Exponential and Logarithms subscore by dividing topics mastered by the total number of topics.
In this example, the Exponential and Logarithm subscore would be 6/20 or 30% and the Trigonometry subscore would be 10/29 or 34%.
