Engineering Hub and Student Success Services
The Engineering Hub was established through a Title V Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. In Fall 2020, the space was endowed by the AEP Foundation, and it is staffed by student workers who serve as Hub Facilitators.
The Hub provides:
- A space for professors to meet with students during their office hours and engage students beyond the classroom.
- Engineering tutors and Supplemental Instructors. Check out those pages or the bulletin board outside the Hub for hours.
- Dedicated space for engineering students to study.
- A lending library for an assortment of engineering textbooks, calculators, and laptops. See a Hub Facilitator to check out items Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Hub Hours

FE Exam Prep
Practicing engineers often pursue a Professional Engineering (PE) license to certify design documents and advance their careers. To become a PE, it is necessary to first earn an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license, which is awarded after passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. The FE exam is best taken after completion of junior-level engineering courses. You may learn more about the FE exam and access free information and resources from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), who administer the FE exam in conjunction with state agencies.
