(Major Field Test and ACAT)

What are Exit Exams?

Exit exams are computer-based comprehensive undergraduate and M.B.A. outcomes assessments designed to measure the critical knowledge and understanding obtained by students in a major field of study. Undergraduate Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Political Science majors and MBA graduate candidates are administered the Major Field Test (MFT), respectively. History majors are administered the ACAT.

There is no student cost for an MFT or ACAT exit exam.

On-Campus Testing

If you are residing in the San Angelo area and wish to take your exit exam on campus in the Angelo State University Testing Center, complete and submit the schedule form on the corresponding date listed below.

The Undergraduate MFT is a two (2) hour exam. The MBA MFT is a three (3) hour exam. The ACAT (History) is a one (1) hour exam. Keep these factors in mind when scheduling.

The Testing Center is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Complete and submit the registration form at least 48 hours prior to the exam date and time. Schedule forms submitted after 5:00 pm will not be processed until the next business day. You are not officially scheduled for an exam until you receive a confirmation email.

Examinations cannot be scheduled more than 30 days in advance. Schedule request dates that exceed 30 days will be deleted.

All fall 2024 MFT and ACAT On-Campus testing must be completed by Wednesday, Nov.  27, 2024.

Remote Proctor Testing

Students who do not reside in the San Angelo area may request Remote Proctor Testing for the MFT or ACAT. To request, complete the Remote Proctor Testing request form. The Testing Center is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Forms submitted after 5:00 pm will not be processed until the next business day. You are not approved for Remote Proctor Testing until you receive a confirmation email.

Although there are no testing fees associated with initial MFT Remote Proctor Testing, any student who misses a scheduled remote testing appointment will be responsible for fees associated with rescheduling. There are no fees associated with ACAT remote testing.

All fall 2024 MFT and ACAT Remote Proctor testing must be completed by Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.
