Freshman Seminars
Freshman Seminars create a classroom environment where first-year students can interact with faculty regarding intellectual topics of mutual interest and can engage in shared inquiry and the practice of reasoning.
Freshman Seminars are structured around:
- Written communication
- Oral communication
- Familiarizing students with campus resources and activities
The small size and interdisciplinary nature of Freshman Seminars foster exploration and scholarly exchange among students and instructors.
Taught by experienced faculty from almost every ASU academic department, Freshman Seminars cover an array of topics, allowing first-year students to interact with their professors and classmates, investigate contemporary or interdisciplinary issues, or simply explore a major.
