Advising is critical for all students in academic programs in the Archer College of Health and Human Services. Select your program below for more information.
Freshmen and Sophomores
Your academic advisor will send an email to you through Navigate. You will then be able to follow the link provided to choose an appointment time of your choice.
- If you lose the email you were sent containing the appointment link, please log into Navigate using your RamPort credentials. You should find an announcement bar at the top of your viewing screen with a link to schedule the appointment.
- If you have scheduled an appointment and will not be able to attend, please notify your advisor right away by calling the Center for Academic Excellence at 325-942-2595.
Juniors and Seniors
Contact the Department for your faculty advisor’s contact information: 325-942-2173.
These are the directions:
- Schedule your advising appointment in Navigate.
- Review the schedule of classes and your degree evaluation. These are available to review on the Academics Home page in RamPort.
- Create a tentative schedule by completing an advising form. Click here for the form: advising form.
- Print two copies of the advising form and bring both of them with you to your advising appointment. Please have the form filled out (i.e., choose the classes you plan to take in the next semester and write them down on the form).
You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you have not completed the above instructions.
Seniors who are planning to graduate must meet with Dr. Snowden. Call the Kinesiology department at 325-942-2173 to make an appointment.

Welcome pre-nursing students! Please read below for all of the information you need to be prepared for your appointment.
What to Expect

Current Pre-Nursing Majors: Your academic advisor will send an email to you through Navigate. You will then be able to follow the link provided to choose an appointment time of your choice.

- New Pre-Nursing Majors: If you will be a new pre-nursing major or would like to change your major to pre-nursing, please contact the Center for Academic Excellence at 325-942-2595 to schedule an appointment.
- Once your schedule has been approved, your advisor will sign off on your degree plan and release your advising hold.
- If you have no other holds, you will be free to register for classes based on the registration schedule. If you have other holds, you will be directed to the appropriate place to have them removed.
How to Be Prepared
- You are expected to review your degree requirements to determine the prerequisite courses you have yet to complete and the courses you intend to take during the upcoming semester. You can find degree requirements for nursing here: Generic B.S.N.
- You are expected to review the schedule of classes prior to your advising appointment to determine your tentative schedule for the upcoming semester.
- Please notify your advisor at the beginning of your advising session if you have courses that still need to be transferred to ASU, plan to take courses elsewhere in a future term, or are intending to apply to one of the nursing programs for an upcoming application deadline.
Welcome psychology students! Advising is required for all psychology majors regardless of classification.
What to Expect
Psychology majors with less than 45 semester credit hours are to be advised through the Freshman College. Psychology majors with 45 or more semester credit hours are to be advised by the Department of Psychology.

Advising through the Department of Psychology and Sociology

Students majoring in psychology can sign up for an advising appointment by visiting the department office in Room 204 of the Academic Building. The office coordinator has an appointment book that lists several hours per day in which students can see a faculty or staff advisor. Students who are unable to come to campus should call the office coordinator at 325-942-2068.
