The Office of Admissions has an undergraduate application fee waiver program available to individuals who qualify under one of the following conditions. The waiver covers the cost of applying for admission to ASU’s undergraduate programs.
Students must complete ASU’s Application Fee Waiver Request and provide supporting documentation if they meet one of the following qualifications:
Required Documentation:
Letter from the applicant’s current school district indicating he/she qualifies for free and/or reduced lunches (freshman applicants only).
Required Documentation:
Letter from a caseworker that identifies the applicant as a ward of the state or resident in foster care.
Required Documentation:
Letter from a high school homeless liaison or current homeless shelter indicating that the student is homeless or an unaccompanied youth.
Required Documentation:
Letter from a public housing agency indicating the student lives in subsidized public housing.
Required Documentation:
Copy of your state college tuition and fee waiver from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Required Documentation:
Copy of SAT or ACT College Application Fee Waiver with signature.
Required Documentation:
Copy of most recent income tax forms that show the applicant’s total family income (before taxes) at or below the economic index in the table below.

For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $9,509 for each additional person.
If you did not file an income tax return for the year 2022, you must submit a Verification on Non Filing Form from the IRS. You can obtain this form by first submitting IRS Form 4506-T to the IRS.
Option 2: FAFSA Application
Students may also qualify for a fee waiver based on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Students who submit their FAFSA and meet the qualifications for a fee waiver will automatically have their application fee waived.

Returning Student Active Duty Military Application Fee Waiver
