Complete the following steps to make your transition into the Ram Family as seamless as possible.
-
Submit Your Final Transcripts.
If you haven’t done so already, contact your previous institution’s Registrar’s Office to request a copy of your final official transcript. Your previous institution may either provide you a hard copy in a sealed envelope or send it electronically. Electronic transcripts are preferred and can allow for faster processing for updating your transfer courses. For security reasons, do not email transcripts.
If you need help finding out how to order your official transcript, please visit our transcript resource page for more information and links to order transcripts from Texas colleges and universities.
-
Set up your Technology Access Account
After you applied for admission, you received an email at the address provided on your application. This email contains the information needed to set up your ASU User Account. If you ever need assistance in regards to technology on campus, please contact the IT Service Center at 325-942-2911 or visit our resource page.
Once you set up your account, you will gain access to RamPort, our internal web portal. Through RamPort, you will have access to content, tools and services most relevant to you.
-
Get Advised and Register for Classes
As soon as you are admitted, contact your academic advisor to get advised. This will clear your advising hold so you can register for classes.
You will register for your classes through RamPort. Visit the Academic Calendar for your registration date. Transfer students will register for their first semester with all new students. Register as soon as registration opens, as courses will fill up quickly.
-
Submit Proof of Your Meningitis Vaccination
State law requires all incoming students who don’t meet exemption to show proof of receiving a bacterial meningitis vaccination. You must have received the vaccine within five years of the first day of classes. The latest possible date to receive the vaccine is 10 days prior to the start of the semester. You can fax the record of your bacterial meningitis vaccination to 325-942-2553 or email it to meningitis@angelo.edu.
-
Set up FERPA/Proxy Access
FERPA establishes requirements regarding the privacy of your student records. After being admitted, set up FERPA/Proxy access if you want ASU to be able to discuss your records with a third party (i.e., a parent or guardian) or if you want to allow someone to view your bill, grades or tax information.
-
Make Housing Arrangements
If you’re going to live on campus, complete your Housing Application as soon as possible. Some students may have the option of living off campus during their first year at ASU. If you choose to stay off campus, you need to fill out the Request for Exemption Form.
-
