The Student Laptop Check-Out Program is available to enrolled ASU students for academic use. The program is intended for short-term (7 days) use to help aid students in the event they don’t have access to the necessary technology. Students must remain enrolled at ASU and be in good standing (no financial holds) during the loan period.
Equipment can be checked out to currently enrolled ASU students through the Porter Henderson Library during library operating hours.
An activated ASU OneCard is required for checkout. No other ID will be accepted.
Only one item will be checked out per person at any one time.
Equipment should never be left unattended.
7-day checkout term with the ability to renew based on availability.

Students are financially responsible for the ASU-owned equipment, including:
If the equipment is damaged or a student fails to return the equipment in good working condition, the student may have a financial hold placed upon their account.
Students may install software on their ASU-owned laptop as they would their personal laptop. Angelo State IT will not install additional software beyond what is already on the computer for individual needs or to support specific classes. Please see the Installed Software list in the previous section.
Any and all information/software that is saved/installed on the laptop will be removed upon its return, and any data permanently wiped. No accommodation can be made for recovering data left behind on the laptop once it has been returned.
Students have the following responsibilities and obligations to Angelo State in exchange for use of the ASU-owned equipment:
Safeguard equipment from physical damage, theft or loss.
Remove and save personal data from the laptop before it is returned. All files left on the laptop will be erased when it is returned. Angelo State IT accepts no responsibility for lost files.
Students are solely responsible for returning borrowed equipment on time and in the same condition as when it was checked out. The equipment will be inspected upon return.
If, after an Angelo State IT staff inspection, it is determined that the student damaged the webcam, laptop screen, hardware and/or casing, the student will be or may be charged repair or replacement costs.
If, after an Angelo State IT staff inspection, it is determined that the student did not return all cables or accessories, the student will be charged replacement costs.
If, after an Angelo State IT staff inspection, it is determined that the student tampered with the equipment, the student may be charged to repair or replace (laptop value $1,100) the borrowed equipment and any cables or accessories, and may also be subject to disciplinary action.
All files left on the laptop will be erased. Any and all information, including installed software, saved documents, etc. will be removed upon return. Please save your documents and information to your P drive, Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive or another location. Angelo State IT accepts no responsibility for lost files.
