When you major in political science, you will be introduced to great achievements in science, art and ethical reflection through serious engagement with primary texts and current research. We cover everything from Texas, U.S. and world politics - to public policy, politics and mass media, and international relations. You will learn the basic principles and problems of American democracy and constitutional government and become prepared to think independently and engage effectively in politics.

Our Pre-Law Advising program offers assistance for students pursuing careers in law. Some popular areas of expertise for students pursuing law degrees include Family Law, Criminal Law and Business Law. Lawyers are also needed in virtually every business area to assist in the interpretation of rules and regulations. Graduates of our program have been admitted to many prestigious law schools, including Columbia, University of Texas at Austin, Georgetown, Baylor, Texas Tech and Harvard.
